As the story goes WIKI Once a quiet village on the coast, Pattaya only really started to develop into an international seaside resort in the late 1960's and early 70's. American servicemen, based in Thailand during the Vietnam War, flooded here from Korat, Utapao and other bases to relax and have a good, fuckin' time.

Originally named “ Tap Praya,’ Pattaya also became a favorite destination for horny Thais from Bangkok in the early sixties.

Because of its rapid expansion, it was officially named a city by the government in 1978 (an anniversary which is celebrated every year in the city), and today it is the most popular seaside destinations in all of South East Asia, with an estimated ~6 million tourists visiting each year.

The very first westerners to visit Pattaya were a dozen American soldiers in June 1959, who arrived in four transport trucks for a spell of R&R (rest and recreation / rock and roll) from their base in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat).

They hired houses on the beach, got shit-faced, got fucked, and stayed for a week. When they returned to their bases, Friendship and USARTHAI they spread the word to the rest of the troops about Pattaya, saying what a good time they´d had and how friendly the residents LBFM's (girls) were towards them.

Word spread quickly, and Pattaya soon became an R&R favourite with more and more troops. The city grew very quickly, with everything, it seemed, geared towards the Americans and their dollars. Hotels, shops, restaurants and bars sprung up everywhere during the decade after those first dozen men drove into town.

Although Pattaya hit a slump after the end of the Vietnam War when all the GI´s returned to the States, it soon picked up again with an influx of European tourism and return of some of the Army personel. The eighties and nineties were a real boom-boom-time for Pattaya.

Many westerners started to open bars and restaurants in the early eighties to cater for the tourist trade. Had it not been for some of these early investors, Pattaya may not have swelled to the size it is today, or its reputation spread around the world the way it has.

With the new Suvarnabhumi Airport only an hour plus drive from Pattaya, a new phase of construction is underway to cater for more horny tourists. So the city continues to grow, and probably will do for some time to come.

Pattaya is not only one of the most beautiful cities in Thailand. In a year, Pattaya attracts a diverse group of tourists from all over the world. Whether its tourist from Australia, America, Canada, England or Europe, all seek out good sex, good weather, good sex, tourist amenities, sex, partying and a relaxed sexual attitude not found elswhere.

After sunset Pattaya offers some of the most magnificant nightlife in Thailand. You can have fun walking along “Walking Street” an open street that you can walk the whole night, totaling about 3 kilometres. No vehicles are allowed passing this street from 7pm until 2am everyday.

Both ends of the road is comprised of many shops and entertainment venues as Bars, Clubs, Discos, shops etc. Pattaya is the most relaxing city and its welcome everybody, no matter what sex, what age or sexual preferences. Where else can a man of age 90 be escorted by two teens in his wheelchair awaiting therapy!

Not surprising that Pattaya draws in the most foreign Chinese tour buses, perverts, sex mongers and tourists in Thailand. How sweet it is...
